Sector: Urban Mobility
My role: Product Designer
Satu Mare, a vibrant city in Romania with a population of 100,000 residents, including both Romanian and Hungarian communities, is known for its rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes.
As part of the city's commitment to sustainability and improved urban mobility, there is a growing interest in establishing a modern bike-sharing system. The city aims to encourage eco-friendly transportation options, reduce traffic congestion, and promote a healthier lifestyle among its residents.
The challenge was to develop a digital bike-sharing app for Satu-Mare that addresses the unique needs and preferences of the diverse population, including both Romanian and Hungarian-speaking users. The app should be user-friendly, efficient, and encourage widespread adoption of bike-sharing as a primary mode of transportation in the city.
The successful development and deployment of the bike-sharing app should result in increased bike usage, reduced traffic congestion, improved air quality, and a more sustainable urban environment in Satu-Mare.
It should also foster a sense of community and encourage residents to embrace eco-friendly transportation alternatives. Additionally, the app should serve as a model for other cities in Romania and beyond that are interested in implementing similar bike-sharing initiatives.
